Wash Day Hack: Aloe Vera Gel De-tangler

Here in Abuja, Nigeria, it's wash day!

Don't rake your hair while it's dry Fam, that's not cool and causes breakage like no other!

If you have access to a fresh aloe plant, use it's pulp, which is super slick, and some olive oil to make a quick and NATURAL detangler that will wash out easy and actually condition your hair while you release the strands.

Make sure hair is WET before and during the detangling process, I learned that late due to the common mindset that Black girls hair shouldn't get wet. But here we are, learning and glowing! We are more aware and educated on what our precious hair needs, so keep it simple, oIl, Aloe gel, and water is the best and simplest de-tangler you can make in your kitchen.

1. Squeeze 1/2 cup fresh pulp from the aloe

2. Add 1 tbsp grape seed or olive oil

3. Add water as needed for consistency

4. Blend until in a bullet blender or use immersion blender until smooth A squeeze bottle works best for dispensing onto hair.  OR on the low...use a ziplock bag and cut a tiny hole in one corner, pipe it out!

You can always get some aloe get online, but also, if you can, find yourself a baby aloe plant and start growing your own hair & skincare at home!

Aloe also soothes burns and helps wound healing speed up. It's a useful plant to have around.
